We had 16 tonight for our Spring Break 2021, when, after a vote, we headed off to Myrtle Beach, SC singing The Beach Boys' Surfin' USA on the way. We enjoyed a variety of drinks and activities. While most chose to just relax and read, some were more adventurous, building sandcastles, walking along the beach collecting seashells, and enjoying local historic / tourist sites. Everyone shared stories about their favorite beach vacations, then later shared something about themselves that most probably would not know. We learned a lot about each other, while having fun.
Attending from Triune were Joan Draper, Lee Ann Eicher, Roberta Gacsal, Debi Huffman, Denise Moomey, Sue Spore, Gail & Jimmie Walsh, and Bob Wymer. Also from OH were Robin Jackson (Palestine) and Diane & Jack Worcester (Lotus). From NM were AGC Christel Fisher, PGP Larry Holmes, Angela Keiter, and Heidi Moretti.
Lee Ann Eicher joined us from a beach near Corpus Christi, TX, where she is on vacation with her daughter Theresa. It was so good to see her!
Thanks to all for attending!

From other Ohio chapters (7): Vickie Davis, Robin Jackson, Carol Kopfmann, Dee & Al Lawrence, Karen Schwab, Dottie Wagner. From NM chapters (11): Lisa Bachman, Christel Fisher, Larry Holmes, Angela Keiter, Glinda Lewis, Larry McDougal, Cavell & Jay Miller, Heidi Moretti, Diana & Paul Youngren.
One of the best things about Zoom is that members can join from anywhere. Sue Spore was in Texas visiting her daughter Ellie Baas. Denise Moomey was in Columbus to spend Mother's Day weekend with her Mom. Others joined from Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas. New Mexico was represented all the way from Las Alamos to Las Cruces. Thanks to all, who attended!
We discussed our May-June charitable project, which is to collect new books for the Scottish Rite Dyslexia Centers in memory of Sara Myles, upcoming activities (Crafts with Joan on May 13th, Laura's Playlist Music Video Watch Party on May 16th, and Bingo Night on May 27th), and District Charities $1 "F" bills, Walk in the Park on June 26th, and Silent Auction.
The Chapter voted to donate a "Lottery Tree" basket for the District Charities & Service Dogs Virtual Silent Auction. There is sufficient interest to plan a group outing to the Van Gogh Immersive Experience at TCF (formerly Cobo Hall) in Detroit in July or August and to start a virtual book club. An organizational meeting will be held on Monday, May 24th.
A report was given on the District #6 Association of Chapters meeting. Annual reports (Audit, Budget, Trustees) were discussed. These will be given on schedule at our first meeting in June, whether virtual or in person.
The consensus of our members is to move to one meeting a month and to change our meeting dates from 1st and 3rd Tuesdays to 1st Thursday with 3rd Thursday as a social event or, if needed, a make up meeting night. The By-Laws & Standing Rules Committee (Sue Spore, Gail Walsh, Denise Moomey) will work with the Grand Chapter By-Laws Committee on these changes.
WP Eric invited the members to join Rubicon Lodge for their annual Mystery Dinner Trip. Those interested should plan to meet at Browning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 5th. This is a good opportunity to spend time with Lodge members and their ladies.
Next meeting we will celebrate our Chapter Birthday and our founder, Emma Evans. Dress for a party, decorate your Zoom area and/or update your Zoom background, and bring your own cake / cupcake. Membership pins will be presented at the first in-person meeting opportunity either in June or September.
Birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated and remarks given by various attendees. Jane Myers led us in the Mizpah Benediction.
A smaller group remained after the meeting to play "Name 5" and visit.

We had 10 for "Crafts with Joan" as we made 3D Hanging OES Stars. As we've mentioned before, most of us tend to be craft challenged and this one tested our abilities, even though we were basically folding paper and gluing it together. Eventually, we all got the hang of it.
Joining us today from Triune were Joan Draper (our fearless and very patient leader), Roberta Gacsal, Debi Huffman, Denise Moomey, Sue Spore, and Gail Walsh. We had 3 other Ohio Chapter attendees: Roberta Eckleberry, Robin Jackson, and, Clara Nichols and one NM/NV Chapter attendee: Cavell Miller. It was great to see everyone. As always, we had a lot of fun.

We made "Double Z Fold Greeting Cards". Once we got past cutting the card stock and scrapbook paper into the needed shapes and sizes, it was actually an easy project to do. Several already have plans to make these cards for upcoming projects.
