What a good time we had at our Pop It Paint It party in Waterville! 11 sisters and friends enjoyed wine and snacks, while creating our individual "masterpieces". Thanks WM Joan for this fun idea and Jaime from Pop It Paint It for your instructions and help! WM Joan Draper, assised by Debi Huffman, held a craft class for Browning residents. We only had 3 residents this month, as we lost several of our regulars to a Walmart trip scheduled at the same time. But, the ladies had fun making their own faerie gardens. Classes continue throughout 2016. |

Before our meeting, we enjoyed a potluck dinner. During Opening, WM Joan read a letter home from her travels. She'd gone spelunking and saw the "Temple of the Sun", "The Caveman", and the "Rock of Ages". They visited the National Monument, which preserves the largest gypsum dune field (275 square miles of sand). Then, they visited "The Dairy Capital of the Southwest", where the Main Street is lined with gift shops featuring little green men. Here, they toured the UFO Museum and Research Center, visited by more than 2 1/2 million people since it opened in 1992. During Sunshine, our Organist played "Some Enchanted Evening". During Good of the Order, Mary Holman was the first to guess "New Mexico". WP Jimmie shared a "Betcha' didn't know" fact about Enola Gay. Then, the 25 members and 1 visitor present had fun matching "What I did this summer" clues with the correct member. |

WM Joan read a letter home from her travels. They had reached the ocean and ate the best seafood chowder at a famous diner, where they bought a "Cat's Meow" in the gift shop. They visited the first national park east of the Mississippi, which opened in 1916, riding the Island Explorer shuttle bus on its 8 different routes. They viewed the Bubble Mountains, and visited Jordan Pond, Thunder Hole, Cadillac Mountain, the Atlantic Brewing Company, and the L.L. Bean outlet store. This state, where they ate lobster for dinner every night, is also famous for its blueberries. During Sunshine, our Organist played "Blueberry Hill". During Good of the Order, Sue Spore was the first to guess "Maine". WM Joan with protem WP John Dunn shared "Betcha' didn't know" facts about lobsters. After the meeting, our visitor, Robyn Moellenberg, Grand Representative of Missouri in Ohio checked out the "Pop It Paint It" paintings created by several of our members at an event over the summer. 2016 Grand Chapter is now over. PGM Gail Walsh and her PGP Steve Farus, opened the Saturday morning session, when she, together with our DGM Jen Garringer, received OH-IO-ES Participation Awards and WM Joan Draper and WP Jimmie Walsh accepted Triune Chapter's fourth consecutive Outstanding Chapter Award. Congrats to all! |
