We are still amazed at how successful our District 6 AREME project, Thea's Rockers, was! All 9 chapters participated by donating at least one rocker.
There were 14 members representing 7 chapters on hand, including Debi Huffman, Denise & Jim Moomey, and Sue Spore from Triune, when we presented 27 rockers to the Toledo Children's Hospital. The ceremony was attended by administrative and pediatric unit staff.
What a great end to this project!

Our monthly craft event was held at Browning, led by Joan Draper, assisted by Sue Spore and Debi Huffman. The residents made patchwork quilt coasters. The biggest challenge was selecting the fabric! Unlike most of our projects, a bit of sewing was required to finish the coasters. Sue brought her machine. Our member Allen Hill brings his wife, Pat, over from Heartland for these events. She is pictured at left with Joan.

25 members, including all 18 officers, and 20 visitors were on-hand as we honored our sister Joan Draper, Deputy Grand Matron, Northwest Team 3. What a great job she did this year!
As it is back-to-school time, WM Gail's opening and closing remarks and greetings were all about teachers / teaching. This was also appropriate, as both she and Joan were teachers.
To make the evening even more special, Joan received her 50 year membership pin from her sister-in-law Marilyn Braatz. Congratulations, Joan!
